Honestly answered
The questions we get most.
How much will a Master’s in the US really cost, all in?
Year one, end-to-end, typically lands between $54,000 and $82,000 depending on city, course and accommodation tier. The calculator above is what we use on the first call.
What is OPT and how long does it last?
Optional Practical Training is 12 months of work authorisation after graduation. STEM majors get a 24-month extension, bringing the total to 36 months. Use it well. This is your window to land an H-1B sponsor.
What’s the F-1 visa interview really testing?
Non-immigrant intent and the ability to fund yourself. The officer wants to be convinced you’ll return home after studies and that you have the means to attend. We prep mock interviews for every case.
Will my course actually lead to H-1B sponsorship?
Depends on the field. CS, data science and engineering have 60%+ sponsorship odds at top employers. Humanities and pure social sciences are sub-20%. We tell you which is which, on the first call.
How early should I start? My intake is next year.
10–14 months out is comfortable for Fall intake. GRE/GMAT prep alone can take 4 months. Visa appointments at peak season run 8–12 weeks. Start early.
Can my spouse or family come with me?
Yes, on F-2 dependent visas. F-2 spouses can’t work, but can study part-time. F-2 children can attend K-12 school. We walk you through the financial proof required.
What does working with Transitley cost?
First consultation is free. The full admissions service is paid by the student, not the university; advice points where it should, not where commission is. Exact pricing is on the call.
